The process
Research and Planning
First, I worked on understanding the Language Learning company: its target audience, its competitors, general tone and style. This helped me identify the elements, language and communication style to use in the video that would align with the company.
Scriptwriting
I wrote a simple and engaging script that highlights the main benefit of the new language course, and that the Language Company wanted to focus on. I kept the target audience in mind, and used language that resonates with them, including a strong calls to action to encourage viewers to sign up for the course. Then, I created a storyboard to visualize the animated video scene by scene. I sketched each scene and added notes on the visual style, color schemes, and animations. This helped me plan the video structure and guide the animation process in Camtasia.
Designing Assets
The next step was to design and source the visual assets for the video, including illustrations, backgrounds, icons, and text elements using Canva. I ensured that the assets were consistent with the visual style and color scheme of the storyboard, and the brand of the Language Company.
Development
After designing the elements and storyboard, I imported the visual assets into Camtasia. I used Camtasia's built-in animation tools, such as behaviors, animations, and effects, to bring the assets to life, applying animations to illustrations, backgrounds, images, icons, and text elements as needed, and adjusting the duration and timing of each animation in the timeline. I also added background music to enhance the video's overall impact, and adjusted audio levels to ensure that viewers don't feel overwhelmed by the video. Lastly, I reviewed the animated video and made any necessary adjustments to the animations, timing, or audio. Once I was satisfied with the final video, I exported it in the appropriate format and resolution for the target platforms, such as social media, websites, and video-sharing sites.
